CEO's Perspective on HR: Expectations vs. Realities |
|
|
| |
Many
CEOs put human capital management as a high priority issue
on the management agenda as they are aware that it is
a critical success factor. However, there are times that
high impact HR initiatives are not formulated or implemented
effectively. The gap between recognizing the importance
of human capital management and achieving tangible results
through effective implementation of HR initiatives remains
to be closed. CEOs on this panel will share their experiences
on the expectations and results of HR management.

(2) Benchmarking
HR with Marketing: Priorities, Resources and Measure of
Success |
|
|
|
There
are a number of similarities between the HR and the marketing
functions in today's companies. A core mission for both
functions is the promotion of the company’s image and
its products and services. But unlike the sales function,
the marketing and HR functions are often considered as
cost centers and in fact, it is generally hard to measure
the return on investment for both. However, many people
feel that the marketing function still commands a higher
priority and enjoys more resources than the HR function
in today's corporations. This could be related to how
the function is organized and how success is measured.
Are there any insights that HR professionals can learn
from their marketing colleagues? |

we have once again invited Professor Brockbank to join
us as a keynote speaker for HR Forum 2003. Professor Brockbank
is a professor at the University of Michigan and is one
